Chocolate Banana Caramel Oats
I don't usually have rich breakfasts like this everyday, but one Sunday morning I woke up craving something sweet and full of flavour. These Chocolate Banana Caramel Oats definitely hit the spot! The best part is, they are free of gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, and pretty quick to make.
Combine 1/3 cup oats, 2/3 to 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (depending on the consistency you like for your oats), and 1 mashed banana. Cook on medium-high heat in a saucepan until oats reach a simmer, then reduce to low heat, stirring occasionally.
Chocolate Caramel Sauce:
Heat 3 medjool dates (pitted), 1 tsp raw cacao powder, and 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk in a small saucepan. Mix in a blender until smooth and creamy. Top oats with sauce, and any other desired toppings (I used hemp hearts, unsweetened shredded coconut, cacao nibs and peanut butter). Enjoy!
