Green Power Smoothie
I'm all about listening to my body, and lately it has been telling me to cut down on sugar (yes, even natural sugars such as those found in fruit), and consume more veggies. With a little inspiration from Lee Tilghman, this low-sugar smoothie was created! It's creamy, crunchy, delicious, and packed with so many wonderful superfoods, flavours, and macro/micronutrients.
1 cup steamed cauliflower
1.5 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 serving collagen (I use WithinUs TruMarine collagen)
1 tsp spirulina powder
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp cashew buter (I use the Nuts to You brand)
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 banana (can be fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup zucchini (I used grated)
1/2 cup spinach
1 tbsp ashwaganda powder (may omit - I add this powerful adaptogenic herb to a lot of my smoothies to help with stamina and immunity)
Unsweetened shredded coconut
You could also have this as a smoothie bowl - just add less milk. Enjoy!
