If you follow me on Instagram, you know that this is my favourite smoothie bowl creation to date! It tastes just like a pina colada, and it is full of immunity boosting nutrients (i.e. vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, fibre, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus), as well as warming and antimicrobial spices. It's one of my favourite things to have for breakfast in these cold winter months!

Smoothie base:

1/4 cup frozen mango
1/4 cup frozen pineapple
1/4 cup frozen peach slices
1/2 fresh banana
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup water
1 scoop protein powder (I used Kaizen Naturals - Vanilla Bean flavour)
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ground turmeric (start with 1/4 tsp, then taste mixture and add more if desired)

Toppings:

1 small kiwi
Pomegranate seeds
Whole black chia seeds
Unsweetened shredded coconut
Homemade granola (click here for recipe)

Directions:

Blend smoothie base ingredients together (I used my Vitamix - any decent blender should work). You might have to give the mixture a few stirs in between blends. Once fully blended, pour into bowl and add toppings as desired. Enjoy!
