Ombré Fall Smoothie

This delicious Ombré Smoothie was created on a rainy Saturday - I decided to use a combination of fruits and veggies to get these beautiful, vibrant hues and give myself a much needed boost of vitamins and antioxidants.

For the pink layer, blend:
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup filtered water
1 cup frozen butternut squash
1/2 cup frozen beets
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

For the purple layer, blend:
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
5-6 ice cubes
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup spinach
1/2 a banana (can also use 1 cup frozen cauliflower as a low sugar option)
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

You might need to add a little more water or ice (or even healthy fats such as nut butter or avocado) to each recipe to get a thick enough smoothie consistency - once you do, layer into your favourite mason jar and top with some fresh or frozen fruit.  Enjoy!
